The Finnish Orienteering Federation incorporates Kolo Design's products into its events!
The Finnish Orienteering Federation is the national governing body for orienteering in Finland. In addition to traditional orienteering, its disciplines include ski orienteering, mountain bike orienteering, and trail orienteering. The federation has around 400 member clubs across the country.
The Finnish Orienteering Federation was one of Kolo Design’s very first clients, for whom we had the honor of producing a new generation of ecological and responsible wooden medals! Thanks to the positive experiences, our collaboration has grown even closer, and the Finnish Orienteering Federation now uses various other Kolo Design products as part of their events.
Most recently, the 2024 Metsäareena®, the federation’s partner event, was held in conjunction with the Orienteering World Cup. The theme of Metsäareena was to explore different aspects of sustainable development — with the forest as a central focus. The program featured inspiring keynote speakers, interactive small-group sessions held at forest checkpoints on various themes, and, of course, opportunities for networking.
Kolo Design created a stylish plywood podium for speakers, partner walls, name tags, and participant gifts for the event. All items were made from domestic, ecological, and responsibly produced plywood!
“The goal of Metsäareena was to spark cross-silo conversations, generate new ideas, and create inspiring encounters. Essentially, to bring together people and experts who, in their everyday lives, often sit at different tables or behind different doors,” says Marko Kantaneva from the Finnish Orienteering Federation.
“Naturally, we wanted to emphasize the forest theme in all aspects of the presentation, and for the participant gift, we definitely wanted something that would encourage people to get out and move in nature and the forest. Kolo Design’s soot pot set was the perfect solution for this — and of course, it’s a product made of wood,” Marko adds, clearly pleased.
